Five Kanwariyas lost their lives in a road accident in Jharkhand’s Deoghar on Tuesday morning. Police officials warned that the death toll was likely to surge because of the scale of the accident and the condition of the wounded. Five Kanwariyas were killed following a deadly accident in Jharkhand’s Deoghar on Tuesday morning. In fact it was the vehicle carrying the Kanwariyas which met with an accident with another vehicle and 5 Kanwariyas were killed and many injured. The incident occurred at 4.30 am on Tuesday when the bus ferrying the Kanwariyas collided with a vehicle having gas cylinders in Jamunia area under Mohanpur police station, police said. How did the accident happen?
SDO Sadar Ravi Kumar of Deoghar says, ‘The accident was reported between 4-5 in the morning. The incident The private bus was carrying pilgrims from Deoghar to Basukinath Darshan and the driver lost control and hit a truck. The bus then rammed into a heap of bricks. The injured are being treated at a hospital. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has alleged that at least 18 Kanwariyas died in the accident. But as of now, no government official has publicly affirmed it.

18 Kanwariyas were killed: MP Nishikant Dubey?
Nishikant Dubey BJP MP from Godda, Jharkhand also tweeted on the accident. At least 18 devotees were killed in the mishap, Nishikant Dubey has said. In a series of tweets, he posted, ‘Due to a collision between a bus and a truck at Bhawan Bigha, Deoghar on the month of Shrawan of the Kanwar Yatra in my Lok Sabha constituency, 18 devotees have died and 40 are seriously injured. May Baba Baidyanath Ji provide strength to their families to endure this loss.” These days there is a huge influx of devotees in the famous Baba Baidyanath temple of Jharkhand due to the Shravani fair. During the month of sawan, worshippers from multiple states reside in this temple including Jharkhand, then Bihar, later Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
