And now, decades later, his son, actor Vishnu Manchu, has announced that he will be taking a Ramayana film on the floors.

The Vishnu Manchu has made a big update about the Ramayana film during a chat with Nayandeep Rakshit. “The story and dialogues of Tailagadu Aakasapilla are locked,” he says. “I had approached Surya to play the role of Ram in 2009,” the actor informed. My dad was all set to act as Ravana and Raghavendra Rao was to direct the film. The script and dialogue were finished, but the budget couldn’t be met. Surya will continue to be my Ram and Alia Bhatt will be the Sita. I wished to be Hanuman but Raghavendra sir wished to cast me as Indrajit.”
