This was the first meet between Kamal Haasan and PM Modi after the Makkal Needhi Maiam founder took oath last month as a Rajya Sabha member. The politician-actor has even posted pictures of the meeting on his social media. The actor wrote in his post on X, ‘An honour to meet PM narendramodi.. He at this point also communicated to him about the major grievances of people in Tamil Nadu.

Kamal Haasan raised many issues?
In his post, Kamal Haasan wrote that he met PM Modi today. I asked for a few things in my capacity as an artist and representative of the Tamil Nadu people, one of which was to expedite the validation of Keeladi as our antiquity. I asked the Prime Minister to assist us in providing an opportunity for our people in order to exhibit and display Tamil Civilization & culture, history of Tamil and wealth of Tamil language to the world.

Kamal Haasan also presented PM Modi with a memento based on the theme of Keeladi village, situated 12 km from Madurai in the banks of river Vaigai, during his meeting. The second oldest location in this list, said to be a site from the Sangam era. But there is a dispute brewing between the Center and the Tamil Nadu government under DMK supervision over findings of Keeladi. In the case of Kamal Haasan, he was sworn in as an MP on July 25 itself in Rajya Sabha.
