What is the matter?
Not only of Tollywood News and Bollywood have been brought under investigation in this case. The ED has issued summons to four stars this week, in which actor Prakash Raj has been summoned on July 30, Vijay Deverakonda on August 6 and Lakshmi Manchu on August 13. The focus of the ED investigation is on the alleged promotion of some online betting apps by these artists. These apps are accused of making illegal earnings of crores of rupees through illegal betting.
Transaction of lakhs done on the pretext of promotion!?
According to sources, some famous actors and social media influencers were paid a hefty amount to promote these apps. However, these stars claim that they were not aware of the real activities of these platforms and they were associated with it only considering it as brand promotion. The ED has started this case on the basis of five FIRs registered by the Telangana Police. The agency will now record the statements of these artists, which will be considered as legal documents under the Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
